[Music] okay um something's been on my mind for a while and and we as a community we need to address in in recent years pet owners have been misled about who can help them to have a well-behaved dog so here is the simple fact dog trainers understand dog training better than anyone else that's just how it goes however the veterinary animal behaviors have been attempting to take over and dictate how we should train dogs clearly Veterinary behaviors and dog trainers have a distinct area of expertise while there may be some overlaps one cannot be considered the governing Authority for the other theorists are trained to study the behavior of animals some of them also May specialize in treating pathological behavior disorder in dogs no question on the other hand dog trainers focus on teaching specific skill sets and behaviors to pet dogs as well as obedience agility protection Sports and of course wide variety of service type training dog trainers do use a variety of techniques and training tools to achieve these goals and their approach may be influenced by their own experience and training as well as the need and temperament of the dog they are working with while holding a PhD in animal behavior provides a broad understanding of dog behavior behaviorists are absolutely 100 percent incompetent when it comes to dog training in contrast experienced dog trainers have a deep understanding of how to make dogs behave and how to provide variety of outlets to avoid or correct problems in the future it is safe to say that currently there are thousands of dogs on psychotropic medications for life this this is not only unprofessional but we can argue that it's a malpractice on a big scale good trainers have long recognized that the majority of these dogs do not have pathological issues instead they simply need some structure and Outlet in their lives and this is what dog dog trainers do best without a doubt a collaborative approach that grows on the strength of both animal behaviors and dog trainers would be the most effective way to address the needs of dogs and their owners unfortunately the American Society of Veterinary behaviors have teamed up with the Positive only trainers and have greatly limited their options to help dogs and their owners because of the dangerous Narrative of the force-free ideology both offer dangerous misinformation labeled as Sciences simply to monopolize the industry on the expense of the average dog owner who needs help experienced dog trainers approach the problem with the best interest of the dog in front of them and never restrict themselves because of ideology
