ever met him was there in no the new silver School in Springfield the first one but I I don't remember I cannot tell you so he was a phenomenal guy and he just had this passion for Learning and he he was just such a unique individual and he's going to be very he's going to be sorely missed and uh I'm still in shock overhearing about it and because he's such a wonderful guy that he was and I want to be able to somehow turn this into something good so if you haven't spoken to somebody that you need to talk to reach out to them um if you feel yourself getting upset like don't let the rage overtake you um and I'm not just talking to you in this but the listening audience as well and um let's honor his memory and I think that we should at the new silver School in November do something uh and Memorial love Michael yeah because of what a great guy he was and he and he he did so good he had so many videos of him and he was thoroughly you know knowledgeable at the Naple post system and he just built the facility and it's just so heartbreaking that tomorrow is not promised and we have to yeah life short you should make the best out of it and live every day like it's the last day yes and I know possible but yeah he he tuned into these live streams too so you know Michael we love you and your family we love you and um we'll try to make uh something good out of the situation like a legacy of your passing so yeah with all that being said we have some people joining us profile picture we got Teresa so if you want to I'm going to go to my personal page and I'm going to share this and anybody who's watching this now uh whether it be on Facebook or YouTube Twitter if you wouldn't mind sharing this as well and then while I share this do you want to do um a quick introduction of who you are in this and and yeah and what you're all about so my name is Linus Bellon but you guys already know that and uh I heard that my dad talked a lot about me in these schools several things about me and I think they were all good yeah and um I used to raise my dad's pups well not only I mean I raised them but not intentionally raised them like I think he gave them to me to loosen everything a little bit up because that's my way I don't think about it too much just do fun stuff with the Ducks and and make them a little bit social and it's just so much more fun to work with a doc who already seen a lot of things and is not scared of anything and likes to be with other people go to the restaurant go to the shopping mall things like that drive in the car being in the Box being in the kennel being outside with you when you're sitting there maybe go to The Nail Studio stuff

like that so that's what I did and also a little bit of course the IPO I did of course and so the exercises I prepared yeah so that's who I am but I think everybody knows that yeah yeah but Ennis what was your first memory thinking back as a young girl with the with the dogs and uh what was your first memory and can you tell us a story or two about what got you into working with these dogs and and what that was like well actually the real work with the docs for sports started actually later I think I was about [Music] let's say 19 or 20 years old okay for sport and before I just I just always loved the pups and and that's yeah I took them out walking and learn how to pee and poo on the leash and stuff like that so my first memory with a with a big dog like um was I cannot remember his name or I think I do I think it was Taki and that was a dog that I always played in the yard with and he was always with me and that's my first memory of me with the dog so normally my dad was always very careful with kids and dogs so he was always like but that dog I could pet and we played a little bit that's my first memory and then someday I I got my first talk and it was a little Springer Spaniel okay you know that of course so he said this is your dog and I was I think I was maybe about 10 years old I'm not sure and I did everything with that doc this was for me a fantastic dog fantastic memory and I think that doc really yeah when it's we go for more so I took that talk out everywhere I went playing with him he was in the woods he was doing his thing and he never ran away and he listened really good but I didn't know what I did back there so yeah I might I think my dad observed me a little bit and was fascinated that my dog did everything for me without you know um you must do it it never ran off or it just came and he has a play Drive food drive he had everything was my my first yeah memory between my dog you know I always tell people when a child has experience with a dog it teaches them a lot about life in general in terms of Life tools and um you know it empowers the child as well to be the leader and to kind of flip the roles right of instead of being the child always having to listen to Mom and Dad that now we have a creature that has to listen to us yeah you have to you have your responsibility for that living creature like that's right starts to baby step of responsibility yeah and um do you agree with that yeah because um I I remember I went to school back then of course and I always stood up very early in the morning I think half past six or half past five I mean and I went walking out with my dog let them run feed them and

you know it's um yeah it's something that belongs to life so it made me a little bit more like what's coming for later for the job or if you have your own kids if I came back from school I changed my clothes and went in the woods with my dog and so yeah it was a I loved it I still do that I still get up at morning at six o'clock and take my young every young puppy now a shepherd and I have a Malinois um [ __ ] female so I wake up very early and go out with my dogs and do a training session and then I go to work so yeah what were what were some protocols that your dad put in place for you as a kid growing up with the working dogs before you started working with the sport what do you mean by this like how did he keep you safe you said he was very careful with some of these dogs oh like that so well it's long time ago I mean the times changed a little bit now so the dogs were a little bit not so social back that days I would say they were more working dogs and now the dogs are more social and used to kids and it wasn't like that in those days so he said uh don't go on the kennel don't don't touch the dog if I'm not there or he would never let us be alone with the dogs it was like that so it was very strict and we didn't do it I mean the dogs maybe did wouldn't do nothing but still you cannot take the risks I'm also very careful with my kids and dogs I'm always there yeah I was gonna ask if you had kids yourself how old are your kids now well I have one son he's now seven years old and uh the the he was with us actually in in in Holland to the new silver school oh cool yeah and so it was a cool experience it was nice yeah it was okay I think everybody knows him now yeah the grandpa Bart yeah he said he's an awesome Grandpa he's cool he's a cool kid I think maybe it's normal that I think so well even with with when I had kids I never I don't have kids on my own but I had a custody of my sister's kids for a short while and uh when we brought him into the house like especially when a dog is eating uh I tell them when a dog's playing with an object or when a dog is is sleeping right those three instances are the number one instances that a dog is gonna bite a kid yeah and uh statistics show that 80 percent of dog attacks sometimes are happening to Children 10 and under right and so we have to be very careful in a lot of these tax happen in the face and neck area because that's when a dog goes after another dog that's when they're going to correct that dog yeah and so um and always the kids like to go with their face to the dog's face I hate it I cannot stand it but yeah so they always go into face in the face so

but with a puppy it's okay I would say but if the dog is older I cannot stand it I say go away with your face from the top I just don't want that yeah I'm still a dog it doesn't matter how good he's trained I just it's still in me it's very deep in me that yeah should be a little bit careful well and I think that that's a misunderstanding especially here in America and because I work primarily with pet dogs in this and so um I have to remind people that this is not a little person yeah yeah it's it's not a child you know it's not something to play with I mean it's good it's nice to have a dog that plays but it's still not an object it's a living being with also um yeah feelings and and yeah you should be careful with that that's the biggest problem these days I think yeah the people always think it's uh you know anthropomorphication right where we take and we we put our own perceptions as human beings on through this canine this essentially it's a predator right and so no matter how close the relationship that we have with our dog we and never ever must forget that this is another another species another creature yeah and even though they have wants and desires uh that are very important to that individual animal just as your wants and desires are important to you as a human being that we must not forget that this is not a human being and uh we also have to realize that there are aspects of the relationship between another human being that if we practice the same type of philosophy with this animal it can make the animal perceive us as as a weakness right like a nurturing to be an overly nurturing being overly affectionate yeah a lot of times I am telling the first thing I'm telling my clients as pet dogs is I need you to withhold affection from this animal and and they have a very hard time accepting that it's it's something that is very uh what do you call it like offensive yeah yeah when they first hear this yeah of course of course yeah people um they don't I think the dogs back those days had more like a purpose and now you know like I don't know hunting or guarding something and now people buy dogs and they want it as a companion it is a member of the family which is a good thing dogs should be treated correctly but still it's for me a duck doesn't need to sleep in the bed it's not necessarily but a lot of people think the dog needs it and it's yeah but everybody has his own opinion about that my my dog doesn't sleep in my bed but he sleeps in in on the floor yeah my dog doesn't even sleep in the house they sleep out if we have a dog room out here right um and and people feel that it's being

mean and I have to remind them like look this dog has different wants and desires and just because you feel that way it doesn't mean that it's necessarily true yeah yeah right yeah because they're in the emotional Arena but but when they hire me as a professional they're they're expecting me to fix a problem that they have and a lot of times the problem has resulted from miscommunication can you tell your camera just a little bit to the right your your or a little bit to the like that yes perfect better yep Jackie says you're going to be in a circle by the time Jackie says here they don't want to go to the comments because we just got a good one um parents also don't spend the time teaching children either the skills of living with dogs yeah what do you think about that what do you have to say [Music] um yeah well I think they try to say that um parents don't teach the children how to behave with ducks is it like that yes yeah of course well I think the the biggest problem is with kids and dogs and parents with kids and dogs that's the parents don't tell the kids they should have respect for the duck so don't pull the ear don't if they're laying there sleeping don't go to the dock let him sleep it's very important that they know that they also need their distance and their peace and quiet and you should respect that that's respect for a dog for me like that yeah yeah so I mean one thing I really like is when I do my training with my dog I let my kids play and I let him be loud and I let him play with the football or anything he likes maybe eat something I don't care and my dog will train with noise without noise so that's a good thing but yeah the parent should teach the kids telling the kids everybody sit down knock it off like no let the kids get wild let that be yeah a proofing or for that dog because guess what kids are chaotic they're just bikes off of the charts sometimes and we might as well have the dog experiences so they have uh we can draw back on that experience so they know that this is perfectly normal and perfectly acceptable for that child to act now the dog needs to know what's acceptable for them when a child acts in that manner yeah so that's why I like to always have puppies and so in the puppies and let them know everything they need to know I mean you cannot be prepared for anything but like kids it's a very important thing because if the dog no kids then yeah it's just perfect so um if I'm training there sometimes at the top place people go then like uh be quiet we are training here and I always say no don't be quiet just play go there I mean of course you must know your dog if you have a

a dog you cannot trust and of course you should be careful but for me it's I I love training when the kids are running there and making noise I think it's the best training you can have what about the kid staring at the dog um like when the dogs yeah if the dog well if the dog's if the dog is training or something do you ever tell the kid hey don't don't don't stare at that dog or don't don't if I train my dog and he's staring or just looking well if I'm training my dog my dog does not look to my kids what about the other way around when the kid looks to the dog or if the dog is or focusing on the I mean excuse me not the dog focusing on the kid but if the kid is like obsessing over that dog yeah you should maybe should not do it I never had that situation to be honest so I never really thought about this okay I do that when I when I come into a house with the with the kid and especially with another dog or something like that or a class or you know sometimes that kid might be overly like focusing on that dog and I'm like yeah go be a kid man don't don't worry yeah don't yeah of course you should yeah because the dog could find it a little bit strange of course that he's like looking at you like I'm gonna I'm Gonna Get You yeah I know what you mean but yeah of course Nelson Hodges just act like he doesn't exist just do your thing that's what I say too yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah just pretend like the dog is you know the dog becomes a center of attention that dog necessarily doesn't want that and sometimes yeah like a dog on a pedestal that they shouldn't be on or we'd make the dog feel a little bit intimidated and not um not allowing their mind to wrap around the situation that we just put them in by having the kid Ultra focused on him and um if you guys hear that little buzzing in the background Innis is having a party next door and she well I'm not invited to this party I've been down there but across the street there is um they say and it's a party location you can rent it and I think there's going going on a party there yeah so maybe it's so there's this gentleman here in America named Nelson Hodges and he's one of my mentors one of my favorite people in the dog world as well and he's here watching and he says that um most adults do not know enough to teach kids they have a little understanding or information our jobs are to teach the client about dogs okay yeah that's true yeah absolutely true that's the biggest problem and a lot of people have dogs who have no clue about dogs so yeah that's the problem also a lot of people buying dogs these days I think everybody here in the village has a dog

now and everybody thinks he knows how to treat the dock correctly like in the human way and it's not like that and they don't uh they think that it's just natural yeah a lot of times they don't seek out advice from others and uh and with some dogs that's okay I mean because some dogs are easier than other dogs but they can't get a working dog not understanding how to fulfill the dog's nature as a working animal right yes they have needs and and the dog must go out and work he wants to work and he needs it to be to be happy actually to find this peace and quiet so I think if people buy a dog you really should maybe ask a professional or read a little bit about the the doc the breeding what purpose it has and stuff like that yeah yeah a lot of these dogs are bred and bred for a purpose and to ignore that is just asking is asking for problems in my yes and from my experience you know that's true so I sometimes think maybe it's better if they had a little bit or how should I say it before you sell the dog to a person it's better to say maybe it doesn't suit you you know they should have more rules about that they make rules about everything except about that so everybody can buy a dog he likes doesn't matter where they live if they have a yard or if they just live in a small apartment so maybe things like that they could control a little bit more from for me my opinion give my opinion absolutely especially if you're working with powerful breeds high maintenance breeds we need to qualify and make sure that these dogs are going into the right hands of people that understand what they're getting into here right yes yeah exactly otherwise you've got a problem not just for that family but also for for the community at large because then you're putting a dog out there that eventually is going to you know transmute the behavior that's not being fulfilled with that particular animal into other activities and especially if the dog wants to bite that's not a good thing yes correct you know Michael Bishop is here as well hello hello hi man and um one thing that I I always recommend people doing is looking at what these dogs are bred for and then looking at the different categories of dogs and my favorite dog as a pet dog person is an English lab or Cavalier King Charles or you know these dogs yeah you know even the spaniels you know some of the spaniels are okay it just depends on you know what the what the job is for this dog the energy level yeah and um and and people a lot of times when they call in us as dog trainers they're in a situation because they did not consider that a lot of times yes um I'm always happy to help people find

dogs in fact one of my favorite things to do is to match make have you ever done that yeah no no I never did that's a that's a cool thing I actually don't have to do um a lot with people with uh how you say it well I mean I only do a lot with sport talks for igp so a lot of experience with that but I think that actually is a really cool job finding the the right talk for the person that's a cool thing well I think in working dog too I mean a lot of people just look at that working dog and think that oh this is a Malinois not realizing that genetics plays a huge role in it right of course and just because a dog looks like it's going to perform doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to perform yes correct and then um we have hello from Connecticut hey you guys if you don't mind since uh Innis is in Germany and we have people tuning in from all over the world in the comments section below let us know where you're watching this from I love reading all the comments of people all around the world here Jackie says and even with those breeds and genetics behind them working Labs or spaniels need the right home yeah I I heard a lot of stories about people who had very aggressive Cocker copper Spaniels so I don't think they're very easy I had a spring or Spaniel and it was very stubborn it was not an easy dog neither because my dad trained him a little bit in the beginning and uh he said he's so stubborn you cannot believe it and he yeah he was sometimes very pushy but he was a creator for a kid fantastic yeah what's his name yeah it teaches you lessons like I was saying as a kid oh yeah how do we overcome the challenge of being stubborn and we can't just get upset and and like beat the animal or something we got to be able to figure out how to work through this situation with this particular animal and figure out why they're being stubborn yeah how to address the situation with the animal and then also how to circumnavigate around the challenge and so we have we have not just getting over the stubbornness but also acceptance with the animal yes yeah and let's see uh Derek is here my website billing is with all my people a great talk last night Bill yes yeah Derek is is one of my one of my one of my brothers man he's he's a great one yeah Derek has switched his his profile picture there's Michael right there in his yeah Michael and uh we spoke a little bit about what happened to Michael and uh he passed away tragically and and we're still all in shock he was part of the napopo family um what do you recommend like when people because you do like a lot of socialization so we tap we touched on it a little bit when you were talking about

digging around kids car rides if you have if you not just qualifying the right people as a breeder but what are other things that you recommend breeders doing with their puppies to get them to be a little bit more uh uh bulletproof or or not so sensitive about going into the real world like like debris yes like like taking them in the car getting them handled I call it going nook and cranny for every dog well that's the thing the thing puppies are still have no in injection and stuff like that you should be a little bit careful where you go because I think it's a very important thing that they have the injections first yeah vaccinations yes yeah vaccinations yeah things like that so yeah if the Breeders can I heard the story that some breeders played some CD with with noises from outside cars or kits that are yelling stuff like that you can do if you have a litter I never did it myself but a lot of people do it but that's a great thing I think yeah because I think it's very important that you teach your dog the first weeks those things but due to the vaccinations they cannot come out yet so it's it's a great thing like that and as soon as I have the puppy and he has his vaccinations I go with them everywhere I take them everywhere in the car I go walk with them in the mall and stuff like that school hang around kids if I have a party I'm invited I take my dog with me it's the best thing you can do so they're very environmental how do you say it they have no problems with that so it's very desensitized yes what about leashes what about crate any of that stuff too yeah of course stuff like that too they have to learned how to go in the in the in the Box sit in a box sit in the kennel be with you when you watch television or stuff like that then you take the dog on the leash you must learn the pee and poo on the leash because it's important that he learns it you cannot do it later you must do it immediately so it's it's I think it's about maybe the first week even if it's a week I don't know if it's a weekend but it's a heart it's like having a baby so you wake up in the night I don't know where the dog sleep I sometimes I put them I like to put them in a box so they're small they feel comfortable put a little blanket in it so that they feel a little bit comfy and I wake up in the night take the dog out before he screams okay you will try to do that because every time he screams and you go and he thinks okay I scream and I will be taken out so that's not a purpose here so you take the dog out and and let them pee and poo and put a little bit food in a box and he goes in again stuff like that it's and

it's so easy they learn so fast you cannot believe it and of course existential food but in the beginning you must look a little bit I mean you cannot let the puppy not eat it so you must first give a little bit out of the hand or the the manners manner I like to work with the manners miners stuff like that it's very important and they learned so much in one week you you already have so many things learned it's crazy that's really cool I liked it yeah I want to show too with um so this is the vaccine that I use I use the five and one here in America where we have the canine distemper uh adenovirus hepatitis yeah influenza and then the parvo Parvo is a big one here yeah yeah yeah and that's where people like they sometimes they have a problem with with giving vaccines and and I did originally as well um but after having a few litters it gets easier and easier so you want to grab in the shoulder or collar area we pinch the skin and then the what I learned from my Veterinary friend is that you take a look at the needle right and then the needle is going to have a spot on it that is here let me see if I can pull up a picture of a needle so I can you guys can Vex you can vaccinate do I say correctly you guys fax vaccinate your own or the vet that does this I vaccinate my own you can do it yourself like that really well Europe we have the Vets who does it we are with them but they do they're there are a lot of um things that we can do here that I'm I'm very grateful for as far as like a Veterinary um yeah let's see at this but uh this is actually a good one right here so I will see if I can share this again um there are certain things I think that like just about surgery I can't do here right but a lot of things I don't want to do surgery either I remember going me neither well I I went and visited my my vet friend I have a a couple friends here that are veterinarians and they told me come on back here and um I was gonna go get like um some antibiotics or something from them and they walked me through the surgery room and there's a dog there and I'm like whoa buddy you gotta warn me about this stuff man but it's I think it's interesting to see an operation like that I would love to see it I mean yeah it just surprised me I wasn't expecting it you know yeah yeah yeah so um let me let me share I'll see if I can do the share screen here for the vaccine needle yeah this one right here so on one tip one side of the needle is is sharp right and then so you're going to take that this side that is sharp and you make sure that that is on the bottom and so when we put it in that's what I learned from my Veterinary friend and

that made Maxine so much more easier for me so just FYI if you do vaccinate your own puppies um just take a look at that needle and then kind of slide in and then um and then push it in and uh this with this vaccine too you have two vials so you have to take one draw it out and put it in the other vial mix it up and then pull that out and then inject it it's also a very important exercise I go with your puppy to the veterinary sometimes you forget it or like what I would like to do now with my young puppy I have a German Shepherd now is I will teach him I forgot it with the last one I teach them to lay on his back for the pictures of the hips and elbows things like that yeah x-rays there you go yeah x-rays yeah x-rays so I wanna yeah I will teach you that so you don't have to put him asleep you know do get the X-ray done because if you have big Shepherd then he doesn't know it he will not lay there yeah when he had it so no yeah well I won't do that mistake again so every time we learn yeah we learn and we make changes but also just like what you were saying about being vaccinated like I'm more I'm more Vigilant about vaccines before the dog goes to the veterinary even if we're just showing the dog the vet yeah it has to be after they're vaccinated because that's where these dogs that go that are sick right they go to the vet right and so if they're going to pick up a bug it's more likely to happen a lot of times at the veterinary's office even though they they clean and disinfect um so make sure that that um that their dog is in fact vaccinated before you take them to the veterinarian right and then we established and you don't always have to go to the veterinary when the duck is sick I mean you can always just take the dog there and just be happier there and then you put them on the table give them some food then you let the veterinary give the dog some food and it's okay so it doesn't always have to be a bad experience yeah yeah call the vet and let them know hey I'm training my dog and yeah yeah they're crazy right now veterinarians are right A lot of them aren't taken because we had an influx of puppies during the the pandemic America right and so a lot of veterinarians are just uh full all the time so that's nicely maybe take your vet some cookies or some cupcakes or something like that give them a treat and then let their yeah it only takes one minute actually maybe even less 30 seconds I had to put yeah but if you know your veterinarian yeah maybe a nice picture and put it on Facebook I don't know yeah yeah but but this will go you know a long way and you know to have the dog have a good

experience at that vet because if they're always going there having a bad experience it's not good no then they start to get apprehensive you know yeah yeah so stuff like that's very important yeah yeah I want to go to the comments here okay before we carry on here so uh he says Bart's favorite Derek does and he's talking about me of course could be true I don't know uh he does I do love Barton he loves it um we have Delaware um is that your dog that you have for the igp that's a freaking beautiful dog so um yeah it is uh hello from the Netherlands not a working dog owner have a Chow Chow oh look at that that's a nice looking dog as well such important for information for any bit any breed that's right a pet or sport dog yes yes I mean they're dogs they're all dogs at the end of the day whatever the purpose is that we're having for this animal right yes of course of course so whoops here let me see dopamine dopamine box when you can't leave home with audio tactile coming soon covered again more messed up dogs like 2020. that's what I've heard I heard that they're doing some more lockdowns and stuff we use noise CDs uh from week two and use cart to introduce movement text different textures and substrates yes I think that's actually a great thing I put it somewhere and sometimes you're a little bit old school and you're stuck in the past and you cannot come further and then you heard things like that and it's very logical and not very hard just put on a CD with noise as in it's it's great yeah old school new school it's all a school right yeah I think that we should include it all just as long as we are keeping Animal Welfare in line yeah of course of course and you always learn more and the more you you do the more Ducks you work with the more experience you get you sometimes think okay I have figured it out and then you have a dog and then you think huh what do I do now so it's always Reinventing and always looking at your dog observe and you you cannot always go by the book sometimes you must just be a little bit spontaneous and observancy okay my dog doesn't react and maybe we should change a little bit what we do things like that let the dog be your feedback loop you know if you're going to react to something that you don't like then we need to work on that yeah and then what I call is overwhelm and then thresholds like what is the threshold that the dog becomes overwhelmed and then we start working on that threshold approaching the the stimulus that is overwhelming the dog in a way that the dog starts to get comfortable with it right and then um as I think about this too like I have a service dog um

the guy that his dog was starting to get apprehensive about going on airplanes right and so if you fly with your dog too maybe go to the airport yeah like having the a dog experience that and how we fixed him being apprehensive on the airplane in this was I just had him go to the airport and then go back home yeah yeah right have a good experience at the airport yeah yeah that's that's that's one experience I never had with a duck actually that I would like to do is travel on an airplane with a dock if the dog is with you in the airplane I mean that's something I would love love to practice love to do something yeah so I will do that someday I don't know if it's allowed to take your duck on the airplane inside service dogs and they've done they've cracked down here in America because a lot of people were [ __ ] that were taken advantage of uh emotional support animals and the dogs were peeing and pooping in the airplane which makes biohazards sometimes they have to bring the airplane down in the sky and uh and so to clean it up right and none of that but it smells like [ __ ] with everybody else around that's crazy and then people were getting bit like people were having a dog sit on their lap and they bite the person next to them in the face oh my God right and so then the airline gets sued um and so they crack down a big time on Esa what we call emotional support animals um but I'm lucky that I have small dogs and so I just pay a fee and then I have a crate that the dog will just fit underneath the seat like hand baggage yes hand baggage yep and then they and then they take the the place of one of your bags so you can carry I have a personal carry-on and then a hand baggage and it takes the space of the personal carry-on and then you you pay each way 100 125 um that's okay that's you can do it but even then even then you need that dog to not be freaked out even then you need the dog to to realize that they don't allow them out of that crate during the whole flight so you're not allowed to take him out no so how do they so that's the next thing that I was always thinking about and how do you let the dog pee or poo you know if you fly maybe even I don't know 10 hours it's not easy I mean yeah you need to prepare for that and they have different layovers and different potty spots in in airports where the dog is is welcome to and that shows the importance of having a command for peeing and pooping and that reminds me and it's when the dog goes pee and poop do you give them a command when they go and so like I said you in the beginning you you see that the dog has to pee or poop you You observe and you see okay now it's

gonna peed and before he pees you see I should say it like that you know yeah I do it because my dad did it it's something that I also do I cannot not do it you've always had dogs and nobody believed it so the dogs always did it on command even that they didn't come out so it's crazy with my dogs as well and how I what I do it was a very puppy is I have a little X pen um and then I'll put them out in the yard and then I'll tell them go potty or go go pee and then poop poop and pee so just remember like what Anna says is that there's a difference between the liquid versus a solid yeah and um I sit and I or I wait for them like Midstream and I'm a good pee good potty good and just let like kind of label that as they do it right yeah and then and then next time I do it I give the command and then they they do it good body good reinforce it and same thing with the poop yeah it's a goproof you know and sometimes I'm like he went pee now go poop because I need I know they need to go yeah and then they they were walking around walking around and then they then they squat down and and push in and yeah like oh a dog good poop and they look right up at me and right during the moment right yeah and they show them the same picture over and over and over and then pretty soon it's not a it's an easy thing to learn because they must do it they always lose in the morning and I know it's in the evening you know and then you know your dog you know okay in the morning two times in the evening one time like that so yeah it's yeah and when they go in the house I'm like ah and so I start with that noise corrective noise and I'll grab them by the craft bottom right outside in through the x-pin and then tell them go poop and then once they go then it's 180 degree change and my demeanor good dog know the difference yeah yeah yes they yeah they do understand it and that's that's the thing that is very exhausting in the beginning if you have a puppy it's like a baby you must always look and you cannot sit if they play you know okay now take them up and you must pee he just like that body produces urine as it gets more active right so yeah like this and if you're a little bit tired of the puppy then you just take him and say okay now you go to sleep like the baby put the baby in the I don't know the name of it a little bit yeah it's now peace and quiet time yes and sleep very very important for human being but also for dog yeah and puppies sometimes can sleep up to 18 hours a day yeah yeah of course yeah brain to to grow a lot of body to um to grow and and to um all the systems to be connected everything else too so yeah

let me see here we're going to go back to the comments in this here yep um shoebox pups mini dopamine box so start to do to start to teach them on box feeding I guess um he says after so many vacs continue be okay what is ginger um I'm not sure we have what's called here we have Titus or um uh tiger titters tighters titters sorry but I still don't know what it means so let me see here um titter vaccine stuff or tighter titter so basically what this is is is is basically it shows if the dog has the um the the vaccine antibodies present within the the dog itself and so I believe yes I do believe that we over vaccinate these animals and um I think that it's a big money maker for veterinarians too oh yeah of course of course yeah so there's a tighter test t-i-t-e-r and I recommend that they have those for dogs as well and if the dog his body is already showing hey I have the antibodies yeah I know yeah yeah yeah and so that's what I recommend instead of always vaccinating make sure that the dog needs it first um and so husbandry is forgotten and now it's all about commands my biggest flaw that reminds me of nails too clipping nails yeah right yes very important Ducks don't really like that it's so you need to do it uh yeah every day just a little bit these people take the Paw in the hand and you don't really have to cut them just do like you cut or I don't know make the noise and feed them a little bit you know from the pedestal stuff like that Jerome is here oh hello he's a crazy beagle man how many beagles have you been to have you seen his beagles no well I I already saw his beagle yeah once but um I never went to the place on one day I would like to visit yeah the biggest one with the beagles top shelf dogs Jerome talking about the Beagle man uh here we go absolutely and it's every time I think I know a lot my dog doesn't hesitate to show me otherwise dogs are great communicators yeah that's true the key is is that are you going to listen to the dog that's what that's what a lot of people they just ignore the dog what they're trying to teach them yes and sometimes you're so stubborn because you always do things the same way and you're very convinced that it's the correct way but sometimes you just say okay maybe this is not the way we try something else also fine it reminds me of something that your dad said like the dog is trained and a dog is being insistent like disobedient and the house is on fire right like the dog is showing you something that you need to know here and even though we corrected that dog the dog is still being insistent like you guys need to know this and so sometimes the dog is is

the pub or the mama and the puppies together in an open area and what happens is I see The toughening Happening you know one thing that I learned from gold school that I take into pet dog world which we need is toughening your dog like knowing that toughening the animal is a good thing and people think that they're being mean yeah but tough being a tough animal not too tough you know a little bit yeah a little bit a little bit toughness away of course it's like with a little bit like with human beings we also must be a little bit tough if you're not tough you cannot go through life because it's not all happy you know just like I was telling my client and I'll be having a private training today I was telling my client just a little a few days ago like stress is just a normal part of life I stress on the way over here on the freeway I had to hurry up so I was like sweating and driving yeah yeah and you were working out too you're right I did I had a workout after work so yeah and so the toughening is a good thing right and maybe I will have a little bit training later with my dog a little session and then I go to sleep well I learned by putting the dog in with the parents and then so I have a big barn here big a wide open area that I do for training yeah and I put the puppies just uh three or four of them in the middle and Mom and puppies were the only ones there right and mom went from one mom was super excited and mom went from one way one end of the room run over and trampled puppies and then right from the other end of the room ran over and trampled puppies yeah and then and then she started to do it again and I started to stop her and then I had to stop myself because I'm like this is Mother Nature there's no yeah like why am I trying to get into what's naturally happening I just need to watch because it was pretty it was kind of hard to watch because the puppies were they look like they were scared they looked like they were freaked out and and but then I saw I saw the toughening happen in in us like I saw the puppies look for Mom and then puppy would brace for Mom yep and then and then I saw a puppy look for Mom and then I saw puppy go after Mom yeah but it is like that it's it's the the mom ducks are very very brutal sometimes so well and once the puppy stopped and went after Mom mom stopped and licked the puppy Right and started to play with the puppy much more gentle yeah and it was very profound experience for me I'm like oh the mom is trying to Tough Enough the puppy yeah yep yeah of course to survive in nature I mean it is not really like that but for the Ducks it still isn't there are no humans

that's right right we don't sit a dog or a human baby in the in the field and run even though we want to sometimes I'm sure it is important and I think just like what we were saying earlier um about you know the dogs our great communicators and teachers that was a time that the dog taught me because I trusted this animal actually she's in here somewhere that the dog that um my dog is also here she's laying here and sleeping around yeah she's right here at my feet come here and look at this little girl come here come on [Laughter] so this was the one that um that that suits it's like the that I travel with that's cool and maybe I should take a small dog too it's um maybe easier well sometimes they are you know but these guys I call them like mini Malinois you know because she has very very high drive yeah you know but but she's laying at my feet right now as we speak you know so um she has to stay here and and every single one of these conversations most of them she's either behind me or at my feet yeah and uh I ever just lay down yeah they need to know uh to be calm too it's not always High Drive it's a very good exercise to say hey go back to your corner or your place and lay down yeah and just like Derek was saying about the husbandry and how it's all about commands right now right or some people think that that's all they need to do is is you know teach the dog a certain sit down stay which is important also yeah yeah but how do you utilize the communication of these commands of the dog knowing the commands to and make your life with the animal more enjoyable yeah right yeah um people ask me how long does my dog stay and I say how long does it take you to do a zoom call or do one of these how long does it take you to go to the bathroom how long does it take you to you know help your son with their homework yeah I'm gonna take you to cook dinner right all this is necessarily A Time no that we adhere to but it's the activity that that the dog needs to that is going to benefit us as well yeah they they sometimes just need to learn that when we are sitting there I don't know speaking or chatting with somebody or just watching the television or reading a book it's quiet time go to your place and be peace be quiet lay down sleep it's also very important command you can say we go to sleep well not sleep but have a rest yeah don't be like don't work just lay there yeah they need a time off yeah well again I do like that and sleep I mean it would be great if it work there but whatever yeah we might be under something there yeah no you know I've been hypnotized and I don't sleep I will try that on my kids

but it and if the dog needs to know um especially working dogs like we have the on switch but it's important for the off switch yeah mine is all done when when I say all done and you start to push me you're going to get a correction because we've said all done it's awesome it's enough yeah enough is enough I don't always say uh okay it means go go away and do whatever you like or just Nisha for example is he has a little blanket where you should lay him and be quiet just later and just because I'm walking to the sink getting a glass of water does not mean yeah yeah of course you will try to come after you and maybe things oh it's it's a nice snack now and it will come after you yeah yeah or just be pushy you know yeah and sometimes enough is enough they just need to stay there and chill out what do you think uh if you do get a little dog hey here sorry done um what do you what do you what would you get if you got a little dog um if I had a little doggie well I of course I liked beagles very funny ducks I think they're great or maybe like a little um daku okay do you do do you do scent work at all and those work um no I don't know not much about it but it would be interesting to do it you know that's great but yeah thank you a little tackle would suit me I would like to try a dog like that I well I don't have that much experience tickle hey Sven I I always used to have um Malinois so or Shepherd soil yeah I don't know much about other dogs actually oh their dogs they're gonna be lazy now every dog that you get from here on out compared to me good thing though you know he started yeah but uh yeah you know the first melon one that I ever had was one of my um apprentices that I of Jesus probably the 12 years ago 10 years ago and I remember um when I I was just looking at this puppy Malinois and I I did a little like that the dog come running to me before he was even awake yeah you know he's yeah and I was like whoa yeah what's this like this is something that's way different right yeah yeah I'd love to come Jerome says uh in the comments here come in uh place in us if you are always welcome for scent work so I I actually wanted to come this summer but there were so many things going on here and I cannot find the time someday I will come and take my family to visit the farm with a beagle it just must be I will come I've been working with um the dude that invented scent Logics too and I've actually had a couple of phone calls with him about the nature of scent and uh and how how um he's kind of Reinventing the aspect of of detection and uh in a way that is much more refined and I can't wait to have one of these live streams with him

and we'll be doing a lot of stuff on the patreon page exclusively with him because we don't want a lot of this information to be General available to the general public yeah they want to be much more specialized for people that are in that field of work right yeah of course yeah so well and that's one of the things that I geek out on is the dog's nose is fascinating oh yeah you know they smell one million times more than we do I believe yeah oh yeah we have five million stencils human beings have five million Sun cells dogs have 120 to 220 million stem cells yes that's crazy right let's be really fascinated to to know how it works and then yeah crazy well and think about it and it's like if you go and for me like I smell an old gasoline engine and I I'm reminded of my dad and his old truck and sitting in a passenger seat like as a little boy yeah and and I'll smell like um like Rose perfume and it reminds me of my grandmother right who's in heaven now right and so yeah if the smells transport us like in our Mind's Eye to a place that we originally you know yeah do a memory mostly right yeah oral Factory sense is the strongest sense tied to memory for human beings and so I can't even begin to oh to comprehend how a dog and it's got to be like like they must be able to like see on a level set like they must be able to see the scent yeah right with their nose because then they can go I was interviewing a gentleman that that his dogs go down into the ground where it's pitch black and they find groundhogs and different Vermin and they're able to do that in Pitch Black because they're using their nose yeah right yeah and so it's it's wild man these dogs are very very interesting actually a very interesting topic well and and we're gonna do um where I was going to be working with Jerome before my wife got sick about getting some of his beagles and then and printing them on bed bugs yep right yeah um and those those are microscopic you can't even see them with your eyes yeah yeah it's fascinating huh yeah I think you can do a lot with the scent with ducks that's still not explored or I don't know that's still not like in the medical [Music] um like in hospitals and then stuff like that well in drug drug addiction fentanyl xyla Zine which is like what we call tranq now um and uh and and not only that but like fentanyl laced um drugs like fentanyl is so much more powerful than heroin a lot of people are dying of fentanyl overdose here in America yeah and it's it's crazy but um I wanted to chat with you before too and you're up to the right can you move the camera I think it's very sorry am I uh sitting correct now

yeah I want to talk to you about the Netherlands and then the silver school too before before we go we saw oh yeah yeah what do you think about this whole thing that's happening with napopo if we look over your shoulder there we have the the uh the the logo other ones yep for perfect yes like we have the um and you're a gold multiplicator yes and I am as well we're both gold multiplicators and it's been so cool to watch the community grow oh it's crazier I I sometimes so I went to the school now in Holland how many people come in and want to learn and um some people cannot even speak English they go to English class before they come to the school to to better understand school this is for me unbelievable and crazy I this is so cool and and a lot of nationalities were there I think if I'm not lying about 23 nationalities were there that's a crazy thing yes so people from all over the world want to learn and want to know more about it and and want to give it I want to teach other people about it that's a good thing and I think we can reach much more people and so yeah I think it's just a beginning too and Paulina says it's great to meet you yeah I I remember the name yeah so many people sometimes I cannot I sometimes I see your faces and names but sometimes I cannot but that's the name I remember well and I remember here in America when I went to the silver school in May oh yeah people from from South America people from China over there people from the UK were there you know so it's a worldwide thing and so it's something that and and I have gained tremendous value from attending to Silver school and I remember because I've had so much hands-on experience with dogs my whole life but I didn't really know how to explain this in in a way that was um on like an educated like I would always explain it in a way that that was intuitive for me right that I've learned from my grandfather and that I learned from my you know just my experiences as um is working with animals and it's next level stuff man it gives you an understanding that is much more deeper and essentially makes you a better professional because now you can explain this stuff on a level that matches I believe like uh like a Collegiate or a like a university level yeah because I was out a long time I didn't do much with ducks for 10 years I think because I wanted to try something else and you know how it works sometimes and but then I came back and in those 10 years I think it was crazy to see how it went up like very professional it's crazy to see how people are those people that that learn they're not stupid they're very intelligent people

and they have high scores on their examinations this is crazy and I think it's very good very good thing yeah Michael says that Bart did not want to do tests at first yeah and I was like oh the tests are where it's at man you know and as a gold multiplicator I took the test again and even though I took the the school five years ago to Silver School five years ago I still did very well on the test because this is how how you learn yeah yeah yeah you're right actually we should always do the tests again and again because the more you do the more you learn the better you become it's like the Talent Code it really is like that that's a book that I was very fascinated about it it opened another world to me I see it's uh totally different now yeah I really like the book well I like the the marshmallow stirring in with the [ __ ] you stir in the marshmallows and sometimes you're gonna stir in this [ __ ] yeah with with the marshmallow you know and it's and that's what we talk about the toughening right but also letting up and letting the love like and and being okay with with uh and and then that's that positive reinforcement right and to understand the very different quadrants and the benefits of them the drawbacks of them when to use them and when when not to use them and then and one thing that that we haven't mentioned is The Importance of Being able to read that particular dog yes right yeah we started to touch on it a little bit when we were talking about the kids young kids like crawling all over the dog and stuff like that but we have to know how to read that dog and know hey look this dog is not like this [ __ ] this dog is about ready this dog is communicating that that something's gonna happen that they're getting overwhelmed here yeah I like that exactly it's not I mean of course some ducks have um they have the same body language of course but not every duck is the same it's a little bit like people we all have our characters and then some dogs are more stable some ducks are not due to the education what did they see as a puppet and then also character a little bit and breed of course we can never forget the breathing yeah and the importance of the individual animal and not attributing the certain things that this dog does over here with this Sad Dog over here you know where one dog gets his tail up and wagging when they're when they're freaking out yeah and one dog or when they're about ready to bite right where another dog can can be very relaxed and submissive and Wag that tail that's it's that's the importance of working with the animal but observing and allowing the animal to

communicate and to to teach us as well yeah observe and and react um in the right way with a particular animal in that particular environment right of course then I'm going to go to the comments here we have uh so interesting in education and then uh this event is going to bring you a test oh my god well I will we will uh Sven and Sophie will visit us tomorrow here in Germany so yeah you don't need to bring the test well it's van I gotta tell you Sven like watching you work with the horse in Missouri was pretty cool man it's cool yeah did you see that I didn't know yet uh that much of knowledge with the horses I like to watch like it's one aspect of learning in a classroom setting but once we get Hands-On with the dogs oh it's so cool to watch watch my colleagues watch the Napo Family actually work not just with dogs but with other animals as well right and there's a lot and that's the importance of going to Gold school but I think that not just going to Gold school but having your gold multiplicator watching them work with the dog and and um seeing how they get along and seeing how they communicate as well and yeah I always tell people that hire like if I'm a dog trainer I better have a trained dog yes of course you know some people like I don't know like they don't um they don't adhere to the standard that their dog is uh you know is not as as trained as they should be I don't know like if you if you're hiring somebody and you're you and you're going to pay them a lot of money um take a look at their dogs yeah yeah I'll let them show you yes that's true the dog of course must be constrained if you wanna yeah and let the dog show you just like we were saying nepopo heart and soul head up tail up ears up right yes sneaking around and yeah being scared right Jerome says that he has to drive part of the night and listen brought me a lot of positive energy and thank you in this thank you Bill well in it it's getting kind of late there too so I should probably let you go but how do people um like do you have any any gold schools coming up and and how do people get a hold of you if they want to learn from you and are you coming back to America anymore first of all I will have a gold School in September the 18th till 22. and maybe but that's not sure it will be a little bit spontaneous maybe one in October and then in Spring again so yeah and I will be back in America but I will won't be there in November because I cannot make it in but I hope then the next one I will be there I don't know when it will be I must look it up I don't know if it's already out or not I'm like um I definitely want to come to Germany

I've never been to Europe so I want to oh really yeah you should come and and people if people want to come to the gold school they can contact me on my email or just write me a message on messenger and I will give you my email address and then we can stay in touch and yeah okay no problem so and then do you have a website or anything in US yeah I have a website dokoni there they can reach me of course let me see how do I spell that I'll put it in the comments here e-o-g-c-o-n -i yeah I just don't know how to pronounce it in English and that's why I was thinking about it.com yeah so there you can reach me yeah and and normally if you go on the nepopo website you can write a message to me that will lead me lead it to my email more Maria so it should be you know there I'll put a link to the naval Pro yeah it's both mapleco.com or neighbor for training yeah yeah and I'll put a link up to that now um in your gold school what do you what do you focus on primarily well of course puppy training and um puppy training in general so it doesn't really matter and and igp of course we're a little bit in the igp scene so yeah we can go tracking we can do helpful work we can do of course obedience and if people come with a puppy it's nice thing but you don't necessarily have to bring a puppy we can also do stuff with an older dog it's no problem and then what do you what do you recommend people that come to your gold school what do you recommend they do with their dog first to make sure that they ensure that they're ready for the the school well it depends on what age the the dog has so well if you have a puppy they don't really need to be prepared just they will learn everything there so it's no problem okay so there's nothing important charging the clicker and stuff like that you'll talk about that of course well yeah of course you can charge the cooker yeah that's always a good thing but we can start it here too I I don't know if a lot of people are then prepared it doesn't really matter we can help you with anything that's the beautiful part about gold school is that the Hands-On with the dog and um I recommend anybody now this is if you do go to Silver School uh Gail Lucy told me one of the best words of advice that I would recommend everybody and what she said was like when you go to these schools pretend like you know nothing about dogs training yeah switch off and and yeah yeah just go to Observer role and let it all in don't don't come there with any expectations or anything and same thing with gold School oh yeah like like don't come there I mean it would be okay to be like I I hope to achieve this I hope to
