너프건 탄환을 활용한 수영장 노즈워크 훈련은 강아지의 후각 탐색 능력을 향상하는 데 목적을 둔다. 핸들러는 버치 오일 향을 소량 묻힌 탄환을 수영장에 투입하여 강아지가 부유물 사이에서 목표물을 찾아내도록 유도한다. 탄환의 팁 색상을 다르게 구성하여 향이 묻은 정답지와 그렇지 않은 물체를 구분하게 한다. 강아지는 수영장이라는 특정 공간에서 사전에 익힌 향기 정보를 바탕으로 탐색을 수행한다. 핸들러는 강아지가 목표물을 발견했을 때 즉각적인 보상과 격려를 통해 성취감을 높인다. 훈련 과정에서 강아지가 스스로 냄새의 근원지를 추적하도록 유도하며 직접적인 위치 지시를 지양한다. 목표물에 접근했을 때 강아지는 냄새를 정확히 판별하고 이를 입으로 물어오거나 표시한다. 적절한 난이도 조절을 위해 무작위로 여러 탄환을 섞어 투입하여 강아지의 집중력을 극대화한다.

자, 계획은 이렇습니다. 제 아이들의 너프건 탄환을 사용할 거예요. 이건 작은 버치 오일 병인데, 이건 검은색 팁이 달려 있고 이건 주황색 팁이 달려 있어요. 그리고 여기에 향을 살짝 묻힐 거예요. 그럼 이렇게 하면 아주 잘 작동할 겁니다. 많이 필요하지도 않아요. 이제 이 향료 병을 가지고 강아지를 이미 방에 넣어둔 곳으로 가겠습니다. 강아지가 냄새를 맡으면 무엇을 찾아야 하는지 알게 될 테니까요. 하지만 탄환을 직접 보여주고 싶지는 않아요. 그러면 너무 쉬워질 테니까요. 준비됐니? 냄새 맡아봐. 찾을 수 있겠어? 자, 기다려. 좋아, 이제 탄환을 풀장에 넣을게요. 이제 강아지가 무엇을 찾아야 하는지 아니까 어디 한번 봅시다. 전부 가져와서 몽땅 던져 넣고 자, 좋아요. 들어갔습니다. 이제 라이코에게 직접 위치를 알려주지는 않겠지만 풀장 구역으로 들여보내서 이 안에 어딘가 있다는 걸 알게 할 거예요. 강아지 데려와. 그래, 우리가 뭘 하는지 정확히 알고 있네요. 그래서 저렇게 뛰는 거죠. 준비됐니? 찾으러 가고 싶어? 찾아봐, 준비됐니? 이리 와. 좋아. 찾아봐. 세상에, 공을 가지고 가려나 보네요. 냄새를 맡고 있어요. 보세요. 정확한 건 어디 있을까요? 바로 중간쯤에 있는 것 같네요. 있네요. [음악] 저기에 있다는 걸 알고 있네 그래 그거야 잘했어 하지만 놓쳤네 잘했어 가져와 착하다 내 강아지 잠깐 놓쳤어 잘했어 나한테 가져와 정말 최고야 좋아 수영장에 너프 다트가 떠 있어 그걸 사용하기로 했거든 봐 그리고 정답은 저쪽에 있어 노란색 끝부분이 있어서 구분할 수 있어 자 준비됐어? 키수 찾아 내가 수영장을 쳐다보고 있었으니까 아마 수영장에 있다는 걸 눈치챌 거야 거기에 수영장 오 운 좋게 바로 거기로 오겠네 아니 정답 쪽으로 향하진 않네 아니야 좋아 찾았어 그렇지 정말 최고야 정말 착하다
okay here's the plan I'm going to use my kids Nerf bullets this is a little bottle of birch oil those have black tips and this one has an orange tip and I'm going to put a dab of the scent inside of there so see that should work just fine doesn't take very much now going to take the bottle of scent over to where I've already stuck my dog in a room cuz she'll know when I let her smell it that this is what I want her to look for but I don't want to show her the bullets or that will help too much ready smell that can you find that okay stay okay now we put the bullets in the pool now that she knows what she's looking for let's see here all right take all of that throw them all in okay good there they go and now I'm not going to actually tell raiko where it is but I am going to let her in the pool area so she'll know it's in here somewhere go get the dog yeah she knows exactly what we're doing that's why she's leaping ready you want to go search huh G to find it ready come here ready all right find it what the heck she's going to take a ball with her she smells it see where is the right one the right one looks like it's right about in the middle [Music] she knows they're out there she got it that was correct but she lost it good girl bring it good dog that's my dog wait you lost it good girl bring it to me what a star all right there are Nerf darts floating in the pool that's what I decided to use see and the correct one is over there you can tell because it has a yellow tip okay you ready kissu search well cuz I was staring at the pool she's probably going to know it's in the pool oh she's going to get lucky and come to it first nope she's not heading for the right ones good there she's got it yes what a star what a good girl
