Cooperative training starts with all the dogs waiting for their turn. When your name is called, you jump in and happily assume the position. You get whatever treatment is going to happen. It could be drops, it could be ear inspection, it could be your teeth being brushed. You earn your reinforcement and get sent back to the bed before the next dog comes in line. So many things can be done this way. It's so much more fun when a dog wants to be part of the procedure that's about to happen with you and not there enduring because they have to. Training with cooperation not only makes training more fun for the dog, it makes training something you want to do, not something you have to do because you're doing something with a dog. It's cooperative. And absolutely, it is effective training.
